SAN ANTONIO – Daniel Lopez, an off-duty San Antonio cop has
been arrested following a standoff on the Southwest Side Thursday night. Daniel
Lopez is charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Deadly
Conduct. Police said the 42-year-old officer got into an argument with a woman
inside a home on Whitecliff Drive, near Loop 410 and Valley Hi, around 11:30
p.m. Thursday. SWAT was called to the scene, and Lopez was later taken away in
an ambulance. Everyone else inside the home was taken in for questioning. Lopez's
bond has been set at $85,000, and he has been placed on administrative leave.
