Man sues city, police for accused false arrest
TRAVIS COUNTY -- A Travis County man is suing the City of Austin, and eight Austin Police officers, for a false arrest and beating back in June 2012.
According to the lawsuit, Pete Hernandez says police falsely arrested him in a Walmart parking lot when he walked by a car that had been stolen.
The lawsuit says police demanded Hernandez get on the ground and he hesitated.

Hernandez says the officers violently forced him to the ground and either beat him or failed to stop other officers from beating him. Hernandez says sometime during the altercation he blacked out.
