Allegheny
County detective Andrew Marculaitis has been jailed on more than 20 charges. All of
the counts stem from three alleged road-rage incidents in the space of nine
days. Two of the incidents occurred in Brentwood and one in the city of
Pittsburgh, all while he was apparently off duty. One of the victims took
cellphone video of Marculaitis pounding on and reaching into a car. Witnesses
describe the cop hitting people, using racial insults, and in one case briefly
taking his gun out of its holster. The 20 charges against Marculaitis include: Ethnic intimidation, three counts of official
oppression, five counts of simple assault-false reports to law enforcement
authorities-retaliation against a witness or victim.
