Off-duty NYPD cop arrested after firing gun in air




NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say an off-duty New York City police officer has been arrested on a reckless endangerment charge after firing his gun during an argument outside his apartment in New Rochelle.
Police tell The Journal News (http://lohud.us/1nWD5Dh ) 25-year-old Jamarie Flowers pulled out his semi-automatic handgun and fired several rounds in the air.
It happened on Lincoln Avenue just after 1 a.m. Saturday. Nobody was hurt.
Flowers was arrested at his apartment shortly after the incident. Information on his lawyer was not immediately available. The NYPD says the three-year veteran has been suspended.
On Tuesday, another off-duty NYPD police officer was arrested following a shooting in Pelham. Police say 27-year-old Brendan Cronin randomly shot and wounded a man six times while the victim sat in a car at a traffic light.
